Cafeteria
St. Thomas More School in conjunction with ARAMark Corporation administers the school lunch program. A hot lunch with milk beverage is served every full school day. Lunches include two hot choices or a cheese sandwich with additional selections added to make a complete nutritional lunch. In addition, a la carte items are available to supplement carried lunches. Milk and juice products are available for purchase. A lunch menu is distributed monthly in the school packet.
Good manners are expected during lunch time; therefore, the following cafeteria rules are to be observed:
• Remain seated unless disposing of garbage items or purchasing a la carte.
• Do not abuse food, your own or that of others.
• Do not share food with others.
• Remain in the cafeteria unless given permission to leave by an adult on duty.
• Do not shout or raise your voice; enjoy the company of others quietly.
• Be courteous and respectful to all those helping during the lunch period.
• Do not take food out of the cafeteria.
Cafeteria Fees
• Lunch tickets may be purchased daily or in strips of ten. This fee covers charges
for the preparation and labor fees involved in our lunch program.
• Parents are required to either volunteer in the cafeteria for five days during the
school year, or they must pay $50.00 to cover the cost of responsible help.
Adult Cafeteria Assistance
The St. Thomas More School lunch contract states that the school must provide two cafeteria assistants each school day that the school lunch program is operational. Thus, every St. Thomas More School family, K-8, is required to provide service for a minimum of five lunch periods (11:15 AM to 1:30 PM) throughout the school year. Families that are unable to fulfill this obligation are required to pay $50.00 to the school to cover the cost of hiring cafeteria assistance. A Cafeteria Service Responsibility sign up form is provided to each family in their initial school packet. This form must be completed and returned no later than September 30th of the school year. Failure to complete the lunch service form by September 30th will indicate that the family is not able to complete the requirement and is then obliged to pay the school $50.00.
