Students & Faculty
St. Thomas More School has 310 students enrolled in grades preschool through grade 8. Of the 310 students, nine are special needs students enrolled in the Diocesan St. Anthony Program for Special Needs Students. These nine students learn in a “school within a school” setting and are mainstreamed into the regular education classes when it is appropriate.
The St. Thomas More School faculty is comprised of 14 full-time certified teachers and 6 part-time certified teachers. Our teachers fulfill all requirements set forth by the State of Pennsylvania regarding certification and professional development. In addition, the faculty meets the religious updating standards of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. The school administrator meets the requirements for elementary school administration and maintains religious updating through the Diocese of Pittsburgh. St. Thomas More School also employs a school receptionist, a school secretary, a development director and contracts with an IT firm. As St. Thomas More School is a Catholic elementary school, our purpose is to develop students’ understanding of their Faith and integrate the teaching of the Church into their daily lives. We accomplish this task, in a community oriented environment that blends academic excellence with the vision and values of our Church.
