Tuition & Fees
Tuition payments comprise about 60% of the school’s operating budget. Because of the importance of maintaining a continuous cash flow to meet ongoing school expenses, it is necessary for St. Thomas more School to have a payment plan that is firmly enforced.
Payment Plan Options
1. Families may choose to have their tuition electronically deducted from a checking
or savings account on the 20th of the month in the months of July through May.
2. Payment in full must be received in the school office by June 20th of
the school year.
A non-refundable registration fee must accompany all registration forms for the registration form process to be complete. A predetermined amount of the registration fee will go toward the family’s tuition bill ( see registration form).
Electronic debits that are not completed due to insufficient funds will be resubmitted
to the bank within 5 days. Families are responsible for any charges incurred for insufficient fund returns. If a family is temporarily burdened by a financial problem, parents should contact the principal in advance of the tuition payment due date. If such unusual circumstances exist, the pastor and/or principal will arrange for relief when possible.
All application information received by St. Thomas More School for financial aid is kept in strict confidence.
Field Trips
Every class will take one field trip during the year. Each student must have a signed permission slip before he/she is permitted to participate. Transportation, in accordance with diocesan directives, is provided by bus, and a fee is charged to cover costs. Guidelines for both students and chaperones are in effect for each field trip. The teacher will inform students of these guidelines so that parents may help reinforce good and appropriate behavior.
Angel Fund & Bishop's Fund
St. Thomas More Parish provides financial grants to needy school families through the parish Angel Fund. Bequests and donations from generous parties fund the Angel Fund. Grant request forms are available in the school office. Grants are made based on the amount of funds available, the family income and the number of children attending St. Thomas more School. Special and unforeseen circumstances are also considered throughout the school year. The Diocese of Pittsburgh sponsors the Bishop’s Fund and SOS Fund grants. Bishop’s Fund and SOS Fund application forms are available through the school office and must be postmarked on a specified timeline. There is a nominal application fee for these grants.
